Appointments

bp_medicalSome patients prefer to book an appointment at a time convenient for them. Other patients prefer to make an appointment to be seen on the day. Our system will hopefully accomodate both types of appointments.

Please give our Receptionist some idea of why you wish to be seen so that you can be given an appropriate appointment. Our Receptionist will ask which Doctor you usually see and whether this is for follow-up of an existing problem or a new problem that has occured.

Please contact your usual Surgery - if possible the Receptionist will offer you an appointment with a Doctor of your choice, which can be booked up to 1 month in advance.

If you wish to be seen the same day you will be offered an appointment with an available Doctor.

Once all the appointments for that day are allocated, your details will be taken and the Duty Doctor will ring you back as soon as possible to give advice, and/or arrange to see you if necessary. The Duty Doctor is available Monday-Friday, 08:30 to 18:30.

If you wish to speak to a Doctor about your problem, the Receptionist will take your details and pass them to the Duty Doctor, who will ring you back.

If appropriate our Receptionist may suggest that you are seen either by our Nurse Practitioner who can deal with many minor ailments as well as prescribe for illnesses such as urinary tract infections and skin rashes or by a Health Care Assistant who can check blood pressures, check weight and height, perform simple ECG's and for the over 70's take all blood tests.
