Welcome to the North Hill Medical Group

North Hill Medical Group serves part of Colchester town centre and a large rectangular area to the north of the town. We have three surgeries: one in town, one in West Bergholt and one in Nayland. Each surgery is open five days a week and offers a full range of routine services. In this way the practice offers a convenient local service where each surgery team gets to know its patients well. At the same time, by working within a bigger group, we are able to offer a wide range of services. These include a dedicated Same Day team which ensures that patients can get help on the day when needed, and in-house referrals to doctors and nurses with particular expertise in certain areas.

Over the last ten years there has been continued major investment in each of our 3 sites, not only in the premises themselves but in equipment and continued training and development of all our practice staff. In 2005 we became an accredited training practice linked with Cambridge University, providing training for medical students and GP Registrars.

From April 2015 all patients registered at our practice have a named, accountable GP. This does not mean that you have to see only that particular GP at the practice; you can still make your appointments with any GP across our 3 surgeries. Your named GP will take a lead responsibility for the co-ordination of all services provided to you at the practice. Please ask at reception for details of your named GP.

If you are a Nayland patient having trouble logging in to SystmOnline please contact the surgery as we are aware of a system error that may affect a small number of Nayland patients.

How to access the practice Same Day Service

Information for patients with mobility problems or requiring easy access

Every few months the practice closes for an afternoon to allow us to undertake training for staff and GPs. This means that, on that day only, all our three surgeries close at 12.30pm instead of 6.30pm. On these afternoons, access to a GP is provided through the Out of Hours Service; you will be automatically directed to them from our usual surgery number.

The next training afternoon is on 19th October 2016

We are pleased to announce that online appointment booking is now available through Systmonline.  If you do not already have a password for online access please contact reception.
